Throughout her comic book history, Harley Quinn has always had an evolved sense of fashion and style, with a variety of costumes that range from her classic red and black jester get-up to her latest roller derby girl tank top and shorts.

Now, the comic book version of the character gets another new look in Harley Quinn #26, but this time, her new style takes inspiration from her live-action counterpart as portrayed by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad movie.

So now, instead of her signature red and black ponytails, she has opted for a more "cinematic" look: blonde hair with pink and blue tips.

But Harley also upgraded her wardrobe, adding a jacket similar to the one seen in the Suicide Squad movie, although the comic book Harley's jacket has a busted-up Joker on the back, a reference to the beating she gave him in last month's issue.

The DC cinematic universe is still rather new, especially considering that it technically begins with this week's release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But Marvel has let its cinematic universe inspire its comic book costumes over the past few years, so it's no surprise that DC Comics might follow suit.

Harley probably shouldn't get too used to her new look, though, because it's likely to change again after DC launches its mysterious Rebirth event. In a short Instagram video, the company teased yet another look for its Clown Princess.

Whatever costume Harley ends up with, even in the comics, it's likely it will turn up at conventions and during Halloween. She's always a popular choice: Harley costumes ranked at the top of the list for 2015 Halloween costumes.

It's still a shame that the Suicide Squad movie version of the character didn't get to don the classic red and black suit, though.

"We tried on every variation of the costume. I cannot emphasize enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried," said Robbie to HelloGiggles. "We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her."

Harley Quinn #26 is available today online and in comic book stores. Suicide Squad opens in theaters on Aug. 5.
