New reports claim another Blade movie is on the cards, but this time from Marvel. The studio reclaimed the rights from New Line Cinema, and there's a possibility the film might be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly enough, Wesley Snipes could return as the day walking vampire who hunts other vampires.

We understand that Snipes was offered $3 million to return as the main character, Blade. However, the whole thing is a bit confusing since we doubt Marvel would continue the story of the character and might just prefer a reboot with a new actor. Furthermore, this rumor popped up not long after Wesley Snipes said he was interested in reprising his role if another Blade film is being planned.

"Yeah, I'd be open to it. I think we've got some stones left unturned, and there's some latitude for us to build on," according to Snipes in an interview. "I'd love to get back in the suit again and do some things that I've learned how to do now, that I didn't know how to do then. I think we're better at making that kind of a film now."

Marvel is a studio that tends to take a long while negotiating with its actors, so it seems so odd that the Snipes would have signed a deal so soon after showing interest in the role. Furthermore, it has been ten years since we've seen the last Blade movie, we'd like to think Marvel would take some time putting things together before committing to a lead actor so early.

Then again, it is possible the report is on the right track. If that is the case, then we can't be happier to see Wesley Snipes returning to what is arguably his best role in his career. Blade in our mind is the best vampire movie in history, and not even Underworld or From Dusk Till Dawn comes close.

Wesley Snipes has been making a comeback after spending over two years in prison for tax evasion. His most notable movie so far, are Gallowwalkers, and Expendables 3. We believe he did a splendid job in the latter, but Gallowwalkers was a major disappointment, which is why it went straight to DVD.
