Battleborn Open Beta has started on PlayStation 4.  Xbox One and PC gamers can now preload the game with the beta opening on April 13. The actual game is slated for a May 3 release.

With the preload comes a trailer that also provides an insight into what to expect from the new game. However, a preloaded beta version on the mentioned devices is so much better to get a hands-on idea about this latest release.

Battleborn loyalists loved the Battleborn closed beta that came out on Oct. 29, where a few gamers had the chance to try out the whole deal - from annihilating bugs to testing the online infrastructure. The open beta, thus not surprisingly, became the latest craze that the fans looked forward to with much impatience.

Now the much-awaited download links, with file sizes, are here for the Battleborn fans:

-PlayStation 4 (7.6 GB)

-Xbox One (10.6 GB)

-PC (12 GB)

The open beta version comes packed with two-story episodes, two multiplayer modes, and some 25 odd characters, some of which needs unlocking as the game progresses. The three different progression systems of the entire game are thrown into the pack as well.

Among all platforms, PS4 will be the first to enjoy the access of Battleborn open beta on April 8. That is not all. The PS4 gamers will get a free DLC pack just for participating along with instant access to a character called Alani at the actual launch of the game. Moreover, the Battleborn Season Pass is up for sale at a discounted price of $19.99 with sale of individual packages. Gamers opting to buy the Season Pass and then test-driving the open beta version on PS4 will be given a special power of unlocking any hero in the game.

Now that's not really fair on the Xbox One and PC users who not only get the access at a later date of April 13 but also don't get treated to all the offers and freebies like their fellow PS4 gamers. But the pre-release game period ends on April 18 for all platforms, only to be followed by the launch of the full game on May 3.
