Microsoft has just started to roll out the Lumia 650 in the United States and Canada, with the mid-range Windows 10-powered smartphone carrying a price tag of only $199. The price is certainly not bad for an unlocked dual-sim smartphone with a 5-inch HD OLED display, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212, 1 GB of RAM and expandable memory.

Microsoft, however, is not yet fully taking away the spotlight on the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones though, which are premium smartphones that were the very first ones to ship with Windows 10 Mobile.

In a new deal posted on the online Microsoft Store, the company is offering a $150 discount for customers looking to purchase the Lumia 950 or the Lumia 950 XL if they trade in a Lumia 920, a Lumia 925, or a Lumia 1020.

The older Lumia devices can be traded in either online or through a physical Microsoft Store, with the dedicated website determining the trade-in value of the older device. Customers can then send in their used Lumia smartphone within a week after getting the online quote of its value, and Microsoft will send back an email containing a promo code that can be used at checkout to avail the $150 discount.

To qualify for the offer, the older Lumia device should be owned by the customer and should power on using its battery without needing to be plugged in to be operated. The smartphone should be in working condition with no missing or broken components, no cracks in the housing or display, no liquid damage and no modifications. The device should still have its warranty seal intact, and it should not be password-protected when sent in along with its original charger and accessories.

The offer, which is good until June 30, is only available for interested customers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The online code that will be mailed back for the traded-in Lumia device will be good until July 30.

Customers, however, are limited to only one trade-in purchase, and up to only three purchases per household.

The Lumia 920, Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020 are not among the devices that will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile, despite Microsoft previously stating that the smartphones are included in the update.
