Sony has revealed SRS-XB3 portable Bluetooth wireless speakers in India, which has a price tag of Rs. 12,990 (or about $196).

The Japanese company has already launched the SRS-XB3 in other regions and now the wireless speaker is ready to roll out in India with Extra Bass. Customers just need to push the Extra Bass button to give the music from the speaker some additional impact.

The SRS-XB3 is relatively smaller and measures 211 x 80 x 83 millimeters (8.3 x 3.1 x 3.3 inches), which makes it perfect to be carried around even in small bags. However, the speaker weighs 930 g (32.8 ounces), which means that some customers may not want to carry it everywhere.

Sony focuses on the Extra Bass aspect of the speaker and it includes a 48-mm (1.9 inches) large full-range driver on board for this purpose. It has an 8,800 mAh battery, which offers up to a whole day of music playback on a single charge. The presence of a USB-A port on the speaker means that users can also charge other devices with the battery of the speaker.

"Loud and proud, they're the compact speakers with really big sound. Made for on-the-go music pleasure, the SRS-XB3 and SRS-XB2 boast a huge battery life (up to 24 hours on the XB3, up to12 hours on the XB2) - letting you listen longer with no need to hunt for a plug," says Sony.

Owners of the SRS-XB3 can connect their smartphone or other devices via NFC or Bluetooth and play music.

The Sony speaker is also IPX5 certified, which means that the SRS-XB3 is covered against those occasional liquid spills - making it perfect for use in the kitchen or for small parties.

"IPX5 (Degree of protection against jets of water): The system has been tested and found to remain functional after exposure to direct jet streams of water using a nozzle of 6.3 mm internal diameter from any direction where approximately 12.5 l / min of water is applied for a period of more than 3 minutes from a distance of about 3 meters. Liquids that the waterproof performance specifications apply to: fresh water, tap water, sweat," says Sony.

Users can also connect the SRS-XB3 with two speakers, creating double the power and sound effect.

The new Sony speakers are available in a number of vibrant colors including red, yellow, green, blue, light brown and black to suit individual taste.
