Images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Active recently leaked and provided an early look at the rugged device. Now, the smartphone has made an appearance on GFXBench, confirming it will pack a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 12-megapixel camera and more.

AT&T has been the exclusive U.S. carrier of Samsung's ruggedized flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy Active. The carrier released the Galaxy S5 Active in May 2014 and followed up with the release of the Galaxy S6 Active in June 2015.

In late March, the first details of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active made headlines, and the smartphone was said to be in testing by AT&T.

The first image of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Active leaked in early May, and like its predecessors, it featured a similar camouflage-designed polycarbonate rugged case. Now, the Galaxy S7 Active has made an appearance on GFXBench, which confirmed most of the smartphone's key specs.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will sport a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD Super AMOLED display and run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, along with Samsung's TouchWiz Android skin. Like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the S7 Active will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 4 GB of RAM. It will ship with 32 GB of internal storage and also include a microSD expansion slot.

Samsung is also keeping the same specs in the camera department on the S7 Active as those found in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which means it will boast a high-end 12-megapixel rear camera with phase detection, OIS (optical image stabilization) and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chat.

The Galaxy S7 Active's battery size wasn't revealed, but since it will use a 5.5-inch Quad HD display like the one found on the Galaxy S7 Edge, the S7 Active could include the same large 3,600 mAh battery.

As for a release date for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, one can expect it to happen in the very near future judging by late May and early June launch of the Galaxy S5 Active and S6 Active.

As always, we'll keep you updated on any new AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Active news as it becomes available.
