File storage service Dropbox recently launched an updated to the iOS 7 version of its app.

Alongside a redesign, the AirDrop feature will allow users links and files through Apple's instant sharing platform via Wifi or Bluetooth. Performance and viewing of files, including video and PDF, have also improved.

Better iPad support is also being featured in the update. Users can expand photos and files to fullscreen with a single tap, helping power users stay organized more efficiently.

Dropbox said that the update was only the beginning of better things to come, according to a blog post.

"The new Dropbox app is a bit like a new beginning for Dropbox on iOS," read the post. "While many things will feel familiar, we hope you'll notice the small tweaks that make a pretty big difference. And maybe best of all, it sets the stage for something exciting things to come."

Interesting developments, as Dropbox founder and CEO Drew Houston said that the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs wanted to "kill the service."

"He was calling out by name and saying he wants to kill us with iCloud," Houston said.

The update comes as the San Francisco-based company announced last week improvements to its service, allowing better transition between business and personal accounts after years of cumbersome performance.

"Some people think there's a consumer version of Dropbox, and there's this different enterprise version of Dropbox, and we think that's ridiculous," Houston said.

News comes as Dropbox does everything it can to fend off rising competition in the file storage market. Currently, the company is looking to raise $250 million in funding and seeking valuation of $8 billion. The plan is to grow on its over 200 million personal users and 4 million businesses utilizing its service.
