Leading up to its official launch in early April, the LG G5 has been an extremely popular smartphone. The metal flagship modular smartphone is available unlocked for $439, which is a considerable savings, when compared to AT&T's current $688.99.

This year's Mobile World Congress 2016 produced three of the most popular smartphones on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and LG G5. Samsung and LG held events on the same day to launch their 2016 flagship smartphones and each company added features in its designs that sets itself apart from competitors.

Samsung decided to bring back features to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge that had been removed from last year's flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. The company pleased smartphone fans and consumers by resurrecting a popular feature that was offered on the Galaxy S5, a waterproof case. Samsung also pleased the same fans by including microSD expansion slots, allowing the fixed storage to once again be increased, a feature the company long touted Apple for not offering.

LG decided to not only give the LG G5 a major redesign, it also was one of the first smartphone manufacturers to jump on the modular smartphone trend, which now includes Motorola's Moto Z series and rumored to be part of Apple's iPhone 7 Plus/Pro model's Smart Connector feature coming in September. LG achieved this by using a sleek metal case that is able to detach below its screen to allow users to swap batteries or add additional accessories like an enhanced camera and extra battery, as well as a high-end B&O audio player.

While we have seen many deals on unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones, LG G5 deals have been pretty scarce. If you've considered purchasing the LG G5, you may want to check out a new deal that will get you the 32 GB unlocked handset for $439, which is a considerable savings over AT&T's current price of $688.99.

The LG G5 includes a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, dual-rear 16 and 8-megapixel cameras, Snapdragon 820 chip, and 4 GB of RAM.

The LG G5 includes 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot that LG claims will support up to 256 GB microSD cards, in addition to a rear fingerprint scanner, and removable 2,800 mAh battery.
