Steam kicked off its annual summer sale on June 23 with much fanfare, giving gamers a chance to lay their hands on popular titles at incredible prices.

If you are yet to navigate your way through Steam's online store and sift out the titles that are currently a steal on the digital gaming problem, we suggest you hurry as the sale ends on July 4 at 10 a.m. PST.

With more than a thousand titles to choose from, the chances of getting confused and snagging the best available deal reduce. However, we have a few tricks up our sleeve to help you make the most of the Steam sale. How? Here are some nifty tips that will aid you in finding the best deals available and save some precious money!

Highlighted deals.

Check out the highlighted deals as these include "select games" that have been discounted the most — usually between 50 percent and 75 percent.

Download the Steam smartphone app for selling trading cards.

This is a great way to take advantage of the sale if you are selling trading cards. However, remember unverified trade cards mean that a gamer has to wait 15 days, which means the sale would be long over.

Sell early, buy later.

Another tip is to sell the trading cards when the sale begins, and buying them when the sale is nearing its end.

Don't be greedy for more discounts.

Since Steam sales as of late have adopted the "what you see is what you get" policy, it means you could miss out on flash sales or daily deals. This also means that the deal you will see is what the price will be till the sale ends. Therefore, in case you think you missed out on a deal that was highlighted — no worries. Why? Because its price will stay the same till July 4.

Don't get greedy for more discounts, and if you see a game you like that is on sale, buy it!

Check reviews.

Just because a game is discounted does not mean it needs to be bought. Don't buy a game for the sake of buying just because the price is attractive. If you are in doubt, check out its review for performance, Steam features and possible issues.

Reddit has a thread on the daily Steam Summer Sale, which offers tons of info on the prices of the games, its history, hardware, bundles, trading cards, etc. This is helpful in getting an overview of the Steam sale.

Check SteamDB.

If you are looking for a quick overview of the complete Steam Sale, check out the SteamDB's sales page. It is a treasure trove of information — not only will you get to see which games are on sale, but also the sale's duration and game's Steam rating.
