LG has taken the wraps off a new VPInput app for some select smartphones, which will allow the handsets to pair seamlessly with the PC.

LG introduced the VPInput app on Tuesday, June 28, and it is now available as a free download from the Google Play Store for the compatible LG phones.

The application is compatible with three LG smartphones namely the LG G4, the LG G5 and the LG V10. It connects the smartphones wirelessly to one's PC through Bluetooth. Users of these smartphones will be able to control their handset remotely by simply using the keyboard and mouse of their PC, thanks to the new app.

The latest solution from LG for LG G5, LG G4 and LG V10 users will be a welcome addition and will undoubtedly increase convenience. So for example, if you're working at your desk and wish to check your smartphone — and not disrupt the workflow — then simply pair the two devices and remotely view content coming from your phone.

Users of the compatible handsets who deploy the VPInput app will also have the ability to send across clipboard text between the smartphone and PC.

"With VPInput on the phone and the accompanying program installed on the PC, text copied from a Word document on the PC can be pasted directly into your smartphone and a screen shot from your smartphone can easily be displayed on your PC monitor. What's more, the function keys on the PC keyboard can be setup as shortcuts to launch your favorite smartphone features or apps," notes LG.

Users will also be able to send across screen images of their Android handset that have been captured immediately. They will be able to key in text remotely on their LG smartphone by using the PC's keyboard.

What's more, the app will allow users to designate a shortcut of their Android-powered LG G4 / LG G5 / LG V10 smartphone app on their computer. For example, pressing F1 will execute the calling application.

The ability to pair one's smartphone with their PC wirelessly is a handy tool, and while solutions such as PushBullet (which allows one to transfer files sans cables) exist, a simpler tool was needed. One could share files from their smartphone to the PC by deploying Google Drive, but this solution can be tedious.

Now thanks to the VPInput app, compatible LG handset users will have a swift solution, which is not time consuming at hand.

LG VPInput is now available for download from the Google Play Store. It is free for owners of the LG G5, LG G4 or LG V10.
