Exciting news today for the massively multiplayer online (MMO) world, as Trion Worlds is bringing Trove to PS4 and Xbox One this fall.

For those unaware of this free-to-play, and might we add, awesome MMO role-playing game (RPG), Trove is an open-ended limitless world that uses a unique art style to deliver a game full of action-packed content.

It utilizes voxel-inspired game designs that differentiate it from the rest of the MMORPG community, featuring brightly colored and richly detailed "pixel-esque" environments, characters and the likes; think of it as Minecraft, only with more cubes and massive online gaming features.

Gameplay-wise, players have two roles which they can separately maximize play times on (or even combine!): building and leveling up. Trove allows players to shape their own creations under its Club World feature while still staying true to classic play styles of MMORPGs, that is, to attack mobs, grind experience and conquer dungeons.

As for competitive modes, native support for team deathmatch and capture-the-flag scenarios are the basic core functions of its PvP system while players who need more content may create their own custom-styled PvP arenas in their respective Club Worlds. The sky's the limit, literally: you could make an arena in the skies if you want.

"Trove is an open-ended voxel adventure through countless realms filled with quests, chests, and enemies great and small," writes the game's description. "It's a potent, cube-shaped brew of RPG features combined with the thrill of exploring procedurally-generated worlds — and the unlimited creative freedom to build your own!"

The game offers a diverse and flexible class system that caters to a player's preferred RPG style with plans to unlock more classes in future updates. Currently, players can choose from 13 classes they can freely switch in between whenever they feel like it, that is, start out as a Shadow Hunter but later on switch to a Dracolyte.

"The artistry and imagination shown by our community is second to none and console gamers will soon to get to play in our massive, voxel-y sandbox!" exclaims developers on its community forums. "With players from more than 100 countries already exploring our vast fantasy environments, now is the time to introduce a whole new audience to the wonders of Trove."

Trove was launched just last year to an overwhelming response of 50,000 gamers in its starting month, with successive 10K gamers logging in monthly according to its Steam Charts. Through its upcoming expansion on console systems, these numbers are expected to increase moving forward.

We'll keep you posted once the game arrives. In the meantime, here's the console expansion trailer from Trove:
