PlayStation 4 Tomb Raider fans will soon get a chance to finally play Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The title, which was previously only available on the Xbox One and PC, will land on the PlayStation 4 on Oct. 11.

Developer Crystal Dynamics recently made the announcement about the PlayStation 4 release, as well as gave additional details on a 20 Year Celebration edition of the game, which will not just include all game content but also all DLC released for it, along with a special edition art book for those who preorder it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was initially an Xbox-exclusive title and came out for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One in Nov. 2015. A PC release followed in Jan. 2016. The game was only a limited-time exclusive, though, and now, it will finally get its due on the PlayStation 4. The only question remaining is whether or not PlayStation 4 owners still want to play a year-old title.

Rise of the Tomb Raider picks up where the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot left off: Lara Croft goes off on a new adventure that takes her to Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh, which promises immortality. However, there are others who want to beat her to that city, so she must battle them as she makes her way across treacherous landscapes.

The entire Tomb Raider franchise, though, celebrates its 20th year anniversary in 2016. The 20 Year Celebration edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider will also include a new "Extreme Survivor" difficulty level, with three new pieces of DLC. The PlayStation 4 version of the game will also include PlayStation VR support for one of those DLC campaigns. There's also a new co-op Endurance mode.

Those who purchased the season pass on Xbox One or PC will also receive all the additional content for free on Oct. 11 (minus the VR support).

Although critics seemed to like the game, Rise of the Tomb Raider still suffered from lower-than-expected sales on the Xbox One, in part thanks to a release date that coincided with Fallout 4. The exclusivity of the title also played a part in its poor sales, considering how much more popular the PlayStation 4 is with gamers over the Xbox One.

It's likely that the PlayStation 4 release will help the game's sales, but with that release arriving a year later, it's up to PS4 players to decide if the game is still worth its $60 price tag.
