Apple and Google are in the two top spots in the Best Global Brands report for the second year in a row.

The report, created by Interbrand, ranks brands in terms of how valuable they are and it includes the likes of Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft and Huawei, which entered the rankings for the first time this year.

"Apple and Google's meteoric rise to more than USD $100 billion is truly a testament to the power of brand building," said Interbrand Global Chief Executive Officer, Jez Frampton. "These leading brands have reached new pinnacles -- in terms of both their growth and in the history of Best Global Brands -- by creating experiences that are seamless, contextually relevant, and increasingly based around an overarching ecosystem of integrated products and services, both physical and digital."

Apple holds the top spot for the second year in a row, having nudged Coca-Cola out of the top spot last year. Coca-Cola fell to third place, with second being taken by Google. Both Apple and Google have an estimated worth of over $100 billion, and are the only two brands to hold that title.

It's interesting to note the prominence of technology companies in the top 10. Four of the top 10 are tech companies, with Microsoft in fifth and Samsung in seventh. IBM is classified by Interbrand as a business services brand.

Overall, the technology category was the most valuable in the top 10, being worth an estimated $493.2 billion. Facebook did not make the top 10 list, but it did claim the biggest increase from last year. In its second year on the list, the social media company climbed from number 52 in 2013 to 29 in 2014. Twitter is also reportedly getting close to making the list.

"On one hand, the new tech brands are doing great, and you have to consider they are at the real beginning of their lives as businesses," continued Frampton. "Will we see a new tech brand perform like a Coca-Cola or a Mercedes-Benz? Their longevity is unproven."

Because of the nature of the technology industry, tech companies have to be careful not to suffer the same fate as a company like Nokia, which showed the largest decline from 57th place in 2013 to 98th place in 2014.

There were a number of brands that made the list for the first time, including Huawei, which came in at 94th. Huawei is the first Chinese brand to make the top 100 list.
