Sony has officially announced the upgraded version of the PlayStation 4 (PS4) called PS4 Pro. Some existing PS4 games will receive graphic enhancements while many titles will be optimized for the new Sony gaming console.

Sony will start shipping the PS4 Pro on November this year and PS4 games are compatible with the new console. The Japanese company says that games will look more detailed and richer in the PS4 Pro.

Sony also revealed that developers are working on patches for existing PS4 games that will offer PS4 Pro support. The company added that some developers are building PS4 Pro support for upcoming game releases.

"At launch, you'll be able to download patches for games — such as Uncharted 4 — which are enhanced when playing on the new console. Future releases that will have PS4 Pro enhancements built-in include Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Days Gone," says Sony.

According to Game Transfers, Sony has offered two lists of games for the PS4 Pro.

- inFamous: Second Son
- inFamous First Light
- Paragon

Sony has not confirmed what graphic improvements to expect from existing PS4 titles. However, reports suggest that graphically enhanced games for PS4 Pro could include improvements to frames per second (fps), effects or resolution.

Game developers will indicate games with visual improvements on the cover of the packaging.

Rumors have surfaced saying customers may have to purchase patches of the game. However, Sony has confirmed that all PS4 forward comparability patches will be free.

PS4 Pro brings 4K gaming and video support, which may attract many customers with 4K TVs. The PS4 Pro will have a price tag of $399.99 and retailers like BestBuy, Amazon and GameStop have started taking preorders. The Sony gaming console will start shipping on Nov. 10.
