The premiere of Star Wars Rebels season three saw fan-favorite expanded universe character Grand Admiral Thrawn make his official new canon debut, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty more reveals where that came from.

As revealed on TVGuide.com, new plot synopses for the next three episodes of Star Wars Rebels are now available, and they tease some major events that Star Wars fans might want to tune in for.

The first is the return of Darth Maul. The character made a big splash in his Star Wars Rebels debut at the end of season two, and he's back and more sinister than ever before in season three. In the second episode of season three, titled "The Holocrons of Fate," Maul takes the crew of the Ghost hostage and tasks Ezra and Kanan "to recover an ancient Sith artifact to save them." That can't be good.

The title of season three's third episode, "The Antilles Extraction," reveals yet another familiar face is set to make his debut. That character is none other than future ace X-Wing pilot Wedge Antilles, the man who flew alongside Luke Skywalker in assaulting the first Death Star, survived the Battle of Hoth and later aided Lando Calrissian in destroying the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor. The episode will see Sabine go undercover as a cadet in the Empire's elite flight academy "to help free several young pilots who want to defect to the rebellion." Slowly but surely, the stage is being set for A New Hope.

Episode four of season three doesn't appear to have any major character reveals, but it does sound like it will dive into Hera's past. Titled "Hera's Heroes," the episode will see a supply mission to Ryloth become personal when Hera and the crew of the Ghost battle "overwhelming" Imperial forces in order to recover a memento from Hera's "ancestral home."

As for the remaining episodes of season three, fans will simply have to wait and find out what's in store. Ezra looked to be flirting with the Dark Side in the season premiere, so it should be interesting to see where the young padawan's journey takes him in season three. And rest assured, the episodes above likely won't be the last time fans see Darth Maul and Wedge.

Star Wars Rebels airs Saturday nights on Disney XD.
