WWE has been making a lot of fuss about its new game, and for good reason. WWE 2K15 is the first game following the closure of THQ (which owned the WWE gaming license for more than a decade), so this is the first time that the new developers over at 2K have really gotten a chance to do their own thing. The game runs on a new engine and features a lot of new systems, but aside from some slick trailers, no one has seen in-depth gameplay just yet.

Thankfully, that's finally changed: 2K just released the second episode of its 'Making of' series, and finally shows fans exactly what they wanted. New controls, gameplay mechanics and motion capture are all top priorities with WWE 2K15, and after watching the video, it's easy to understand why.

For the first time in years, the controls for WWE will change. Previously, the controls were incredibly complex and the games did a poor job of teaching gamers how to actually play. There was very little on-screen information, and extremely precise timing was required to play the game at a basic level.

With the new system, 2K seems to be trying to make the game more accessible without sacrificing depth. Inputs for different maneuvers are now displayed on-screen, so players will still have a wealth of options to choose from and know exactly how to do them as well.

There's also a new focus on differentiating athletes from one another. In past games, every character utilized the same controls for all moves; while this control scheme works in a game like Super Smash Bros., it wouldn't have worked nearly as well for a game as complex as WWE 2K15. Though the developers didn't go into specifics with individual characters, expect every superstar to feel completely different from one another in the new game.

Finally, the game's motion capture has been shown off extensively, but this is the first time that players have seen anyone other than WWE Superstar Antonio Cesaro in the suit. On top of that, it's amazing to see the kinds of stunts these athletes can pull off whilst wearing rubber suits covered in ping-pong balls.

WWE 2K14 was viewed by some as simply more of the same, which was an unfortunate side-effect of the closure of THQ. Now that 2K has had time to go in and really change the formula, it seems that WWE 2K15 is set to bring the series back into the limelight. 2K has put a lot of effort into their newest game, and it won't be long before players get to see if the work paid off: WWE 2K15 hits last-generation consoles on Oct. 28 and current-generation consoles on Nov. 18.
