You might want to take a seat for this one. Not content with their reputation for having the lowest quality hamburger available on the market, McDonald's is introducing an experimental "create your own" burger kiosk that is looking to raise the restaurant's fast food game. Or try to, at least.

The gourmet "create your own hamburger" option is currently only available in Sydney, Australia at one restaurant in Castle Hill. There, customers can choose what kind of bun they would like, how many patties and a selection of 19 gourmet toppings, from pineapple to a fried egg. Other options include various cheeses, sauces and toppings like tortilla strips and guacamole. Each topping is individually priced.

For an idea of what kind of burgers we are talking about, check out the video below. This particular burger cost nearly $16, but comes with nearly every ingredient possible, along with a fry and drink. It's a massive burger complete with a wood skewer holding it together and does look like it could go toe-to-toe with other, fancier burger chains. Everybody else in the restaurant ordering chicken McNuggets will no doubt stare at your meal in wonder.

Now this whole idea would be a complete disaster without the digital kiosk designed to make orders simple and clean. Attempting to list to a McDonald's employee your 11 ingredients for your dream burger would only end in heartache and disappointment when they misheard. Thankfully, the kiosk looks easy to use and understand.

There is no word when the "create your own" feature might expand beyond the borders of Australia, but lets hope it is sooner rather than later.
