Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta for the PS4 has been extended by one more day, and on top of that, developer Infinity Ward has added in a new mode called Gun Game.

That means players can keep on testing things for themselves and continue providing crucial feedback that should generally help mold the game into a better form when it rolls out, as the end date is now at 10 a.m. PT or 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 18.

Needless to say, they have plenty of time to go through the ins and outs of Gun Game thanks to the extension, but fans of the series are probably already familiar with it, as it did appear on previous Call of Duty titles.

Now, the beta isn't only for the fans' benefit but also for the developers, as they can pinpoint as many kinks and wrinkles as they possibly can and iron them out before the full launch.

"With our Beta, we not only want to give you a sneak peek of what you'll see in the final game, but we also want to put our servers and systems to the test so we're ready for day 1. We've already collected a ton of data and gathered lots of insights to help us make your full multiplayer experience the best it can be ‪on November 4," Infinity Ward says.

It should also be pointed out that the maps in the mix other than Precinct are Frontier, Frost and Throwback. Meanwhile, other modes include Team Death Match, Domination, Defender and Kill Confirmed, aside from Gun Game.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to go official for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 4, but before that takes place, the final beta that's going to run between Oct. 21 and 24 for the consoles is in the pipeline. Unfortunately, PC gamers aren't going to be a part of it.

To boil things down, players can keep enjoying the beta a little longer than expected, and they can jump back in after a few days when the weekend comes.

With all said and done, what do you think of the beta extension and Gun Game? Feel free to drop by our comments section below and let us know, especially if you're one of the testers.
