Niantic has released a new update for Pokémon GO, one that makes it possible for players to have better chances when attempting to catch a Pokémon, and improved gym training.

It's a significant update to the game, and it should make things much better. Players who are interested can now train up to six Pokémon at a friendly gym, all at the same time.

While the new additions are great, there are some setbacks such as not being able to train a single low-CP Pokémon, save Pokémon or even choose teams.

Worry not, however, for there are ways to get around these minor annoyances for a better experience, so let's talk about how to do this.

Create Teams By Changing Pokémon Names

The game now allows players to change the name of their Pokémon to whatever they like. Trainers can take advantage of this to better organize the Pokémon they want to train at the gym. This should save a lot of time, especially for those with a large Pokédex.

When changing the name of your Pokémon, change to “.name” / “0name” / “!!!name”. For example, !!!Charizard, !!!Pikachu and so on.

These names with automatically find their way to the top of the list, making it easier for trainers to create teams. Bear in mind, separate symbols can be used to create separate teams for different scenarios.

Multiple Teams Is The Way To GO

Having multiple teams with different tasks should make for easier battles. We recommend having an Attacker/Defender team, and a Prestige team.

For the Attacker/Defender team, you'll need your best Pokémon, particularly those with high damage and high CP. These creatures should be able to stand up to most adversaries, so line them up and get them ready for battle.

As for the Prestige team, you'll need five low-CP Pokémon and one high-CP Pokemon to help with maximizing your CP gains.

In our mind, the Prestige team is the most important update if the trainer wants to level up gyms and earn maximum CP. With the right Pokémon, these things are achievable.

Earn Prestige Quickly

Some might not believe this, but it's possible to earn more than 1,500 Prestige on every encounter. You'll need to use a set of Pokémon with half the CP as the defenders to move forward with the plan.

For example, if the defending Pokémon has a CP of 1,500, then the attackers must have a CP of 750 or slightly lower.

Finally, It's Possible To Save Charge Moves

In previous versions of Pokémon GO, trainers were not able to save Charge Moves, and that was a problem. Who wanted to use a super move on a Pokémon with low HP? That's not the case anymore. Take out a low HP Defender with Quick Attack, and save your Charge Move for something sinister.
