This suggests that owners of the 2014 flagship could soon enjoy some of the neat features that the latest Google mobile OS is famed for.

OnePlus One rolled out during the summer of 2014, embedded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. A few months ago, the device got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, and at the time it looked like that will be the end of updates for OnePlus One.

It should be noted that the OEM did not officially announce Android 6.0 as being the last OS update for its first smartphone. However, seeing how Google usually provides updates to the Nexus devices for a maximum duration of two years, the logical deduction was that OnePlus will not be getting Android 7.0 Nougat.

Luckily for owners of OnePlus One, that does not seem to be the case, as the OEM is preparing a sweet treat for them. The OnePlus One was recently spotted at Geekbench. The figures are not that impressive, with a single-core score of 976 and multi-core score of 2,521, but the features of the new OS will make up for it. The phone that appears in the benchmark is holstering Android 7.0 Nougat, which means that the company might eventually send out the highly anticipated update to everyone who owns one. It may also mean that Android 7.0 Nougat will prove to be the last update that reaches the handset model.
