There's a new Xbox One video game in the pipeline, and guess what? It could very well be Banjo-Kazooie. Fans of the Xbox platform have long asked for a sequel to the Xbox 360 3D platformer, and it appears they will soon get their wish.

According to well-known and respected video game industry insider, "Kampfheld", Rare, a studio that works under Microsoft, is currently working on Banjo-Kazooie, and there's a chance the game could be announced at E3 2015. Now, bear in mind that this is just a rumor and should be seen as such despite coming from a reputable insider.

This piece of information is interesting because Microsoft has never spoken much about a follow-up to the company's 3D platformer. It wasn't a raging success compared to some of the popular PlayStation-related platformers, but it was fun nonetheless.

For those who are under the shadows, Banjo-Kazooie was first released on the Nintendo 64. It was developed and published by Rare, but when Microsoft bought the company, Banjo-Kazooie and every other video game under Rare's belt became a property of the software company.

It's the reason a version of the game was released for the Xbox 360 and so another version could be released for the Xbox One.

We would be euphoric if Banjo-Kazooie gets announced for the Xbox One, as this generation hasn't seen the rise of a single platformer from any of the top developers. Only Nintendo these days is still creating platforms with much success, while everyone else is focusing on video games that stab and shoot.

Furthermore, we want to point out that while many at Neogaf concluded that Kampfheld was talking about Banjo-Kazooie, it is quite possible he was more along the lines of Crackdown.

"You will have a great time with your Xbox in the coming months and years," says the insider. "In future, I will make sure you guys will be able to hunt these orbs with a big bang. Bye for now."

Crackdown is one of the few games where players go crazy over orbs, so it could be a possibility that he's talking about that particular title rather than anything else.
