Pokémon Sun and Moon has a ton of new Pokémon for trainers to catch and battle with in the Alola region, but there's always room for the original 150 of the first generation.

In this short guide, we'll be covering the locations of the bushy-tailed Eevee, the electric mouse Pikachu and the fire pup Growlithe.

How To Get Eevee

Eevee is arguably one of the series' most popular Pokémon because of its many evolutions, from Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon to Leafon, Glaceon and Sylveon.

To catch one, you'll have to reach Akala Island first, which is the second island you'll visit on your journey. From Heahea City, head to Route 4, and you'll encounter an Eevee in the first patch of grass you see.

How To Get Pikachu (And Pichu)

If you found yourself wondering where to catch Pikachu as you started Pokémon Sun or Moon, don't be surprised that others did too, as the electric mouse is practically a must-have for any fan.

Now, the good news is that you can get a Pikachu as soon as you begin your adventure because Melemele Island — the first island you'll be on — is rife with Pikachu and Pichu.

Between your house and the place where you'll meet Kahuna Hala for the festival, you can find Pikachu in two patches of grass right before the first flight of stairs you'll see.

If that doesn't work out for you, there's always the other spawning area right inside Hau'oli City. Pikachu turns up on all the patches of grass there, not to mention that there are Pokémon Centers nearby if you and your team need a quick rest or if you need to stock up on Poké Balls.

There's also a chance to encounter Pichu in those areas, and that means you have the option to capture it and make it evolve instead of catching Pikachu.

Remember, you won't see Pikachu on any other island, so you better catch one on Melemele Island before you continue.

How To Get Growlithe

Just like Pikachu, Growlithe can also be found on Melemele Island, and you won't see one on any other islands too.

You can encounter Growlithe on Route 2 right before Route 3, and that's pretty much it.

For those who don't know, Growlithe evolves into Arcanine when a Fire Stone is used on it.

There you have it — a quick guide on how to get Eevee, Pikachu or Pichu and Growlithe. Needless to say, the best part is that they can be captured early on in the game.
