Those who still haven't managed to tick several shopping lists for gifts off their backlog are in luck, since most stores will be open on Christmas Eve. But move quickly, since nearly all of these establishments will close up shop on Christmas Day.

It's a cumbersome chore to keep up with the varying store schedules this holiday season, so as Christmas draws nearer, here's a definitive schedule of which establishments such as banks, the post office, and retail stores are open, and at what time they'll be pushing their doors shut this holiday.

Banks Christmas Schedule

Every bank observes federal holidays differently, so we've included as many banks as possible along with their respective holiday schedules. On Christmas, the following banks will be closed:

Dec. 25, the legal public holiday for Christmas, falls on a Sunday, wherein banks are closed by default. As a result, banks will also be closed on Dec. 26, in observation of the Federal holiday for Christmas. This way, employees can take advantage of pay and leave benefits.

United States Postal Service (USPS) Christmas Schedule

USPS post office locations will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, to observe the federal holiday.

Regular mail will not be delivered during these times, but Priority Mail Express will still be delivered during the said dates. Regular operations resume Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Post office locations, however, will be open on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, but some will close early at noon. Blue collection boxes with final collection times before 12:00 p.m. will not be affected by shortened lobby hours on Dec. 24.

But users can still insert mail on collection boxes before 12:00 p.m., irrespective of the boxes' final collection times. This way, their mail will be be picked up Dec. 24.

"For pick up on December 24, please put your mail into blue collection boxes by noon regardless of the final collection times posted on the box," according to USPS' site.

FedEx Christmas Schedule

All FedEx services will be closed on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, including FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, and FedEx SmartPost.

United Parcel Service (UPS) Christmas Schedule

UPS will not provide services on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. Shipments will not be delivered on these dates.

Target Christmas Schedule

Target stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, but will be open on Christmas Eve, with a number of outlets closing late at 10:00 p.m. or 11:00p.m.

Walmart Christmas Schedule

Walmart outlets will be closed on Christmas Day. However, for last-minute Christmas Eve shoppers, stores will close at 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 24.

Best Buy Christmas Schedule

Best Buy retail stores will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

Here are closing times and Christmas Day schedules for other retail stores.

• Kohl's - Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• JCPenney - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Macy's - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Sears - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Dillard's - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Big Lots - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 10:00 p.m.

• Toys R Us - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 9:00 p.m.

• Barnes & Noble - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Lowe's - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.

• Apple Stores - Closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve until 6:00 p.m.
