Halloween is right around the corner and, like everyone else, Destiny has something in store for players. It comes bearing an update and -- within that update -- treats abound!

In total, there are eight new treats included in the game through the Halloween update: three items, four sparrows, and a gift for referring a Fireteam. Of course, everything will follow a Halloween theme. The three items are already being enjoyed by players while the sparrows have yet to be obtained. Many believe they'll be available on Oct. 31, when it's officially Halloween.

The first of the items included is the Flight of the Shadows. It's a consumable that changes the appearance of respawns within a 24-hour period and may be acquired by killing Hive.

Another item is called All Hallows' Eve. It's a package that may be obtained from the Postmaster. It contains three Jackolytes (another consumable item), each one may be worn throughout the game for 30 minutes.

As for the sparrows, there's the S-30 Tumbler, S-31 Nightfall, S-32 Snowflake, and S-33 Dragonrider to be collected. All of these include a new upgrade called Destabilizers, which may be used while airborne for releasing roll stabilizers.

The actual Halloween update was implemented to provide players with a more stable gaming experience. General fixes include solutions to Zebra error codes, Cockatoo error codes, and login problems, while server fixes improved protection against accounts being corrupted and also addressed errors that kicked players at the start of an activity.

More importantly, though, what people are more concerned about are raid updates. With the Halloween patch, Atheon can no longer be forced off the platform to instantly kill him. Vault of Glass was designed to be difficult and difficult it will definitely be as the update also had Atheon randomly choosing players to be teleported.

"This is an activity that was designed to be undertaken by a hardcore team that is ready and willing to adapt and improvise to changing battle conditions. Like the moment when the Templar shields random players, the Final Boss was supposed to be extremely dangerous. While we've been working on some of the other things for which you've been asking (i.e. better exotics, voice chat in matchmaking, more bounties), the designers who made the Raid have plugged the holes that you showed them," explained Bungie community chief David "Deej" Dague.
