New Year's Eve Clubbing Without The Crowds And Cost

There are always plenty of brave souls willing to take the plunge and go out to their favorite club on New Year's Eve, but many more choose to sit that night of clubbing out and make other plans instead. In addition to the insane traffic and crowds, every hot nightspot jacks its prices way up on New Year's Eve to take advantage of the demand on what is arguably the biggest party night of the year.

EDM (Electronic Dance Music) fans looking for a more economical way to ring in the New Year and still enjoy their favorite beats need look no further than their free iHeartRadio app to provide the soundtrack to their New Year's celebrations whether it be at home or with friends or family. That's because iHeartRadio is stepping up its game this New Year's by offering up to 20 straight hours of DJ mixes from some of the biggest names in the scene.

iHeartRadio New Year's EDM Marathon

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Dec. 31, iHeartRadio's Evolution channel is presenting 21 exclusive mixes from DJs like The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, DJ Snake , Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki. The mixes will play straight through until 6 a.m. on New Year's Day.

One of the biggest stories in pop music this year has been the huge growth of EDM, and many of the year's chart-topping pop songs have come from EDM artists on the iHeartRadio marathon slate. The Chainsmokers provided the biggest EDM breakthrough of the year topping the pop and streaming charts with the one two punch of "Don't Let Me Down" and follow up no. 1 hit "Closer." Not far behind was Major Lazer (a side project of the prolific DJ Diplo), which produced the classic "Lean On," the most streamed Spotify song of all time until Drake's "One Dance" recently pushed it into second place. Major Lazer followed up that triumph in 2016 with another worldwide smash, "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber. DJ Snake also had a huge pop and streaming hit featuring the Biebs in 2016 with "Let Me Love You."

Other top DJs on the card include Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Nervo, David Guetta and Krewella. You can check out the full lineup and set times here, and don't worry, if you don't already have the iHeartRadio app you can download it free of charge. Happy New Year!
