After Faraday Future unveiled its amazing electric vehicle FF91 at CES 2017, Tech Times took a closer look at whether Tesla CEO Elon Musk had any competition to worry about.

And, just like we supposed, Musk still has the clear lead. The latest software update for the Tesla Model S P100D, which powers up the Ludicrous+ mode, just left the FF91 in the dust again.

There is really no other way to describe the Ludicrous + update with any other word that is not synonymous to the word "ludicrous" because it just pushed the limits of an already outrageously fast car to ridiculous levels. The Tesla Model S P100D has a zero to 60MPH acceleration of 2.5 seconds but, with Ludicrous+ mode enabled, this goes up to zero to 60MPH in 2.4 seconds.

Musk has been hinting on the Easter Egg since fourth quarter of 2016 and Model S owners have been on the edge of their heated microfiber and synthetic leather seats for the update. The Ludicrous+ mode finally came with the over-the-air (OTA) performance update released on Jan. 12.

The 0.1 seconds may not seem like much but this is still actually a conservative figure considering Musk himself tweeted that it could possibly clock in at 2.34 seconds.

Of course, automobile experts and speed enthusiasts were quick to put the Easter Egg to the test and are happy that Ludicrous+ delivered. Watch the DragTimes video below to find out how the test went.

Then there are others who offer suggestions on what Tesla could improve on if the company has plans to focus on bolstering the speed of its cars for drag racing, just like the video below from Tesla Racing Channel.

Then again, Musk is pretty fixed on improving Tesla's autopilot system to improve its fleet's safety so, even if Tesla takes such suggestions into consideration, they may not be implemented anytime soon.

Readers and speed enthusiasts would probably recall that Faraday Future began the "acceleration war" when it bravely named the Tesla Model X as one of its competitors in its "Faraday Future versus the World" teaser video for the FF91. Although, considering production has not even begun for the FF91, it's probably safe to say that it cannot even be considered a war since Tesla already has a commercial fleet out on the streets.

Further, as we already pointed out, the FF91 competed against the Tesla Model X P90D, which posted a zero to 60MPH acceleration of 3.8 seconds rather than the Tesla Model S.

From the way things are looking, Faraday Future may have spoken too soon.
