At BlizzCon 2014, Legendary Pictures took the veil off the cast and characters for the impending Warcraft movie. Toby Kebbell (Planet of the Apes fame) and Travis Fimmel (Vikings fame) will play Durotan and Anduin, respectively.

The posters and two websites for the film, which is based on World of Warcraft - Blizzard Entertainment's popular multiplayer game, were also unveiled at the event on Friday, Nov. 7.

Directed and co-written by Duncan Jones, Warcraft is set to release in 3D on March 11, 2016. However, little is known about the upcoming movie's storyline which draws from the first two World of Warcraft games.

Jones, however, has let on that Warcraft will have plenty of special effects and in that vein revealed that the film will be "Avatar and Lord of the Rings at the same time." With the special effects for the impending movie being done by the Star Wars studio Industrial Light & Magic, viewers can expect a visual feast.

The ensemble cast for the movie is as follows:

Travis Fimmel as Lothar - the Alliance lead

Toby Kebbell as Durotan - the Horde lead

Ben Foster as Medivh - an Alliance mage

Rob Kazinsky as Orgrim

Dominic Cooper as King Llane

Daniel Wu as Gul'Dan

Clancy Brown as Blackhand the Destroyer

Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar

Paula Patton as Garona

As part of the film's promotion, Blizzard's CEO Michael Morhaime announced the launch of two fan websites - fightforthealliance.com and fightforthehorde.com. As World of Warcraft gamers will be familiar, the Alliance is composed of dwarves, night elves, gnomes and humans. The Horde on the other hand comprises trolls, blood elves and orcs.

The two fan websites focus on the two tribes that are pivotal to the conflict, which form's Warcraft's premise. Users can choose a side i.e. either Alliance or Horde and make a profile to gain access to exclusives like cover photos, custom profile icons, wallpapers etc.

Morhaime also released two posters of the Warcraft movie. To sign-up as an Alliance fan head here, or if you are a Horde supporter click here.
