As the March 29 official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus draws near, leaks regarding the upcoming smartphones have been filling up the rumor mill.

While recent reports have left almost nothing to the imagination regarding the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the most recent leak has spoiled all the official details regarding the devices, along with the official press images that will be used by Samsung.

The information and press images, acquired by German tech website WinFuture, provide Samsung fans eagerly waiting for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus with a complete picture of what to expect for the smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus: Display And Cameras

The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch display compared to the 5.1-inch screen of the Galaxy S7, and will be lighter by 1 gram compared to its predecessor. The Galaxy S8 Plus, meanwhile, will have a 6.2-inch display, compared to the 5.5-inch screen of the Galaxy S7 edge.

Both devices will have WQHD+ resolution capabilities at 2,960 x 2,400, with ultra-wide aspect ratios of 18.5 to 9. However, the default resolution will be 1080p Full HD, to save battery life. Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have curved Super AMOLED screens with no physical home button, will retain the IP68 water and dust resistance rating from its predecessors, and will have stereo external speakers.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will see an upgrade on the front-facing camera from their predecessors, going up from 5 MP to 8 MP. The rear-facing camera will remain at 12 MP, but will add a laser autofocus feature.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus: Performance And Features

Both the Galaxy aS8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will ship with 4 GB of RAM, though it is still believed that a 6 GB of RAM version for South Korea and China is still in development. The devices will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the United States, China, and Japan, and will feature Samsung's Exynos 8895 for all other countries.

The fingerprint scanner, which will be located beside the rear-facing camera, will support gesture recognition, with programmable gestures for opening specific apps. An iris scanner will also be present at the front of both smartphones for additional security.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus: Battery And Storage

Despite the bigger displays of the smartphones, there will be no battery upgrade compared to their predecessors, with the Galaxy S8 to have a 3,000 mAh battery and the Galaxy S8 Plus to have a 3,500 mAh battery.

Both devices will come with 64 GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 256 GB through the microSD card slot. The smartphones will also be featuring a USB Type-C port and will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus: Price And Colors

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have prices in Europe of €799 and €899, respectively, so customers in the United States can expect either $799 or $849 for the Galaxy S8 and either $899 or $949 for the Galaxy S8 Plus.

The color options that will be available upon launch are blue, black, gold, silver, and orchid gray. A pink or rose gold option was previously rumored, but there was no mention of the color in the leak.
