Just recently Microsoft launched the Lumia 535, the first smartphone that drops the Nokia logo.

The device was designed for the low-end market -- hence, the low-resolution display. However, a new report claims that Microsoft is looking to the future with rumored plans to release three new Lumia devices in 2015.

AdDuplex reports that it managed to locate three new Windows Phone devices with Microsoft as the manufacturer in its logs. The rumored handsets have displays ranging from 4-inches to 5.7-inches, suggesting that Microsoft could launch a low-end to high-end trio in 2015.

If this is true, then rumors of Satya Nadella planning to shut down the mobile business are not true. The release of the Lumia 535 is a clear sign that the Redmond giant will carry one in the foreseeable future.

Even if Microsoft wants to cash out, it can't just yet. The Windows Phone platform is not attracting a lot of partners that the company can count on for the release of several devices per year.

Satya Nadella has no choice at the moment but to lead the charge in hopes that consumers will eventually gravitate toward the platform.

Apart from the rumored trio of handsets, AdDuplex also reported that Windows Phone 8.1 is now on 51 percent of all Windows Phone 8 devices. That's a huge achievement for Microsoft and could be a sign that things might go well for the Windows Phone platform in the years to come.

Now, we should point out that AdDuplex's report should not be viewed as completely accurate because the data come from over 5,000 apps that use the platform to show advertisements to users. Thus, we should wait for an official confirmation from Microsoft.

All in all, Windows Phone has come a long way since the disaster that was Windows Phone 7. The platform has finally caught up to Android and iOS in the features department. The only problem plaguing Microsoft right now is the lackluster app store.
