Arc System Works, busy with Dragon Ball FighterZ, apparently has enough time to work on the next BlazBlue game, revealed at EVO 2017 to be BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

While Dragon Ball FighterZ will feature the most iconic characters in the Dragon Ball series, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will extend beyond the BlazBlue universe, bringing a new twist to the popular fighting franchise.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Unveiled At EVO 2017

Arc System Works unveiled BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle through a trailer that was shown off after the BlazBlue: Central Fiction grand finals at EVO 2017, the world's largest fighting game competition.

What makes the new fighting game unique, however, is that it is crossover title, similar to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Joining the BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle roster, which includes BlazBlue's Ragna the Bloodedge and Jin Kisaragi, are Yu Narukami from Persona 4 Arena, Hyde from Under Night In-Birth, and Ruby Rose from RWBY.

This is the first instance for Arc System Works to team up with Rooster Teeth, the creator of the American anime-style franchise. Arc System Works was part of a pair of Persona fighting games for the PlayStation 3 and was the publisher for Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late in Japan.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be released in 2018, though no specific date has been mentioned. The game will feature 2 vs. 2 tag team matches, with players able to choose characters from the different franchises included in the game.

RWBY Fighting Game Finally Arrives

There have been rumors that a RWBY fighting game will be announced at EVO 2017, generating excitement as fans of the series have long been clamoring for a fighting game after the Dynasty Warriors-like RWBY: Grimm Eclipse.

RWBY fans finally get their wish with BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. While it does not only feature RWBY characters, it will succeed in bringing Ruby Rose, at the very least, into the fighting game genre.

It is currently unclear if Ruby Rose will be joined in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle by other RWBY characters, which is the same question for Persona 4: Arena and Under Night In-Birth characters. It is also unknown what platforms it will release to, and if there will be other franchises joining the crossover title beyond the ones that were highlighted in the game's reveal trailer from EVO 2017.

Not much else is known about the fighting game yet, but it is already being hyped up by BlazBlue fans and fighting game enthusiasts.
