The new Nokia 7 is now official, stepping in as the midrange Android phone that completes HMD Global's current lineup.

That said, it's not on par with the other "7" smartphones (read: Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7) among the brood, but it does have plenty to offer to fans of the brand.

Nokia 7: Premium Look, Decent Specs

As anyone would've expected from a midrange phone, the Nokia 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 that's coupled with either 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage, or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage depending on the model. Space isn't a problem here either, as it supports microSD cards.

For the display, HMD Global placed a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD screen. To keep the lights on, the Nokia 7 is packing a 3,000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging to make sure users won't be held back by a dead phone.

From the get-go, the Nokia 7 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and to make things better, Android Oreo is promised to arrive soon after.

Regarding the other important features, it'll have a rear fingerprint sensor and capacitive keys. It also has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS. For ports, it has a USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Nokia 8 Feature: The 'Bothie' Camera

First came the selfies. Next came the "wefies." Now comes the "bothies," which is simple really. It's just a way to use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously and put the two photos together into one image.

Sure, it's not much, but it does have the potential to up users' Instagram and Snapchat game.

On that note, the Nokia 7 sports a 16-megapixel f/1.8 rear camera and a 5-megapixel f/2.0 front sensor.

Nokia 7 Price, Availability

Just like the other Nokia phones under HMD Global before, the Nokia 7 will roll out in China first and head to the United States and Europe later.

At that, it will launch in China on Oct. 24 with a CNY 2,499 price tag for the model with 4 GB of RAM, and CNY 2,699 for the variant with 6 GB of RAM. That translates to about $377 and $407 respectively.

The Nokia 7 will be available in two color options: Gloss Black and Matt White.

For the record, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 are at the lower end of the spectrum, while the Nokia 8 is at the higher end, boasting a Snapdragon 835 under the hood. The Nokia 7 falls right into the middle section between the first three and the top-of-the-line Nokia 8.
