Huawei's Honor just showed off a top-notch Honor View 10 flagship smartphone with high-end specs and a high screen-to-body ratio at a more affordable price point than the Huawei Mate 10.

Honor is a Huawei sub-brand typically handling mid-range devices with good specs at an affordable price point. On Dec. 5, Huawei's Honor held its global launch event in London, UK, and showed off the budget Honor 7X and the new Huawei View 10.

The Honor 7X had already made its debut in China in late November and it's largely unimpressive, but the Honor View 10 tells a completely different story. The new flagship is just as capable as the Huawei Mate 10 but for less money, and it's the most ambitious Honor smartphone so far. It also made its debut in China last month, but now, it's ready for global release.

Huawei Honor View 10 Specs

The new Huawei Honor View 10 introduced in London sports a sleek all-metal body and a 5.99-inch LCD FullView display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen is taller and slimmer than on previous Honor smartphones, and it takes up most of the front panel. Honor has not adopted quite a bezel-free design, but the bezels are thin enough to allow for a high screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the Honor View 10 packs an in-house Kirin 970 chipset just like the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, complete with the Neural Processing Unit that leverages the power of artificial intelligence for a next-level smartphone experience.

The Honor View 10 further packs a hefty 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of native storage space expandable via microSD, dual rear cameras comprising of a 16-megapixel and a 20-megapixel sensor, and a 13-megapixel selfie cam.

The smartphone also packs a large 3,750 mAh battery with Honor's SuperCharge technology, which can bring the smartphone from zero to 50 percent in just half an hour. On the software side of things, the Honor View 10 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo on board out of the box.

Honor View 10 Pricing And Availability

The powerful Honor View 10 will go on sale on Jan. 8, 2018, in select markets such as the United States, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, India, and Malaysia. The smartphone will reportedly start at €500/ £450, which would translate to roughly $592.

Considering the high-end specs it packs and the prices of other flagship smartphones with comparable specs, the Huawei Honor View 10 makes a compelling proposition and could be among the best value-for-money devices on the market.
