The Mac Pro, Apple's top-of-the-line machine, finally hit the markets on Thursday, but eager buyers will have to wait till at least February before they can get their hands on them. Apparently, supply chain problems at Apple's Austin, Texas, faciity have prompted Apple to move to postpone the shipping date. However, it's not bad news for everyone, especially those who are looking to make quick profit on eBay by offering to sale and ship the new Mac Pro before the end of the year.

Pre-orders for the new Mac Pro started Thursday but unfortunately, the demand for the new machines have caused supply chain problems that have resulted in the postponed shipping date. However, two people are trying to make a profit by offering to sell them on eBay and having them delivered at the earliest possible date. While one of the sellers has openly admitted that he does not have the machine on hand when he posted the ad, he is claiming that he will receive one of the first machines off the line and that he will sell it to the highest bidder. The eBay seller estimates that the unit will arrive before January 7, 2014. We have no idea how did he arrive at that date.

"I will ship the computer to you brand new in box within 24 hours of me receiving it," says the eBay seller in question. On the other hand, the second eBay seller claims that he will be able to ship the machine before Christmas. This eBay seller did not say how he was able to get hold of the new Mac Pro.

Both the eBay sellers are trying to sell their Mac Pros at almost double the retail price at $5,500 and $5,800 respectively. However, don't be surprised if they do come across a few interested buyers because the new workstation server, which looks like a space age trash can, comes with impressive specifications and is being touted as the go-to machine for professionals working with graphis, vieo and audio. It is also the successor to the original Mac Pro that was released in 2006. Apple's new powerhouse comes with quad core Intel Zeon E5 processor, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, 256GB flash storage, and 12GB of RAM. Customization is possible but the sticker price of $2,999 will look north.
