The next-generation Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is still months away from launch, but the latest rumors indicate that it will sport a bigger screen and a more powerful battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Note devices are already big, to begin with, and have always been among the largest smartphones available in the market. The first Galaxy Note, for instance, seemed huge at the time, and many thought it would not make it.

The "phablet" trend caught on, however, and Samsung has been gradually pushing the boundaries and launching increasingly larger smartphones. Others followed suit and large handsets are now the status quo.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Leaks

The Galaxy Note line is still iconic when it comes to "phablets," and the upcoming model could be the largest one yet. High-end specs are also expected, and the device should offer a good battery life.

The latest leaks regarding the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 have come from two different users who posted their insights on Twitter. One of them mentioned the battery size, while the other referenced the display size of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Battery Size

According to one of the sources, who goes by the Twitter name Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will have a large battery of 3,850 or 4,000 mAh, which would be notably larger than the 3,300 mAh unit powering the current Galaxy Note 8. It remains unclear how Samsung could manage to fit such a large battery, but if it finally implements the much-rumored in-display fingerprint sensor, then it would be feasible.

Rumors of in-display fingerprint scanner technology have been making rounds for a long time now and Samsung has been working on such technology. However, it remains to be seen whether it will be ready to hit the market this year with the Galaxy Note 9. Rumors are contradictory in this aspect, so the jury's still out.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Display Size

When it comes to the size of the display, one Twitter user with the handle @MMDDJ says that the Galaxy Note 9 would sport a 6.4-inch display. It would mark a 1-inch increase over the display size of the Galaxy Note 8 and would allow a greater distinction between the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9+.

Samsung could achieve this larger display size by further reducing the bezels, or by increasing the smartphone's overall size altogether. With no official news, for now, take these leaks with a grain of salt.
