Amazon has teamed up with Best Buy to offer Fire TV editions of Toshiba and Insignia smart TVs, which also means Alexa onboard.
The special edition TVs will be built on Amazon's Fire TV OS. According to Best Buy, more than 10 such Fire TV Edition smart TVs will hit the market starting this summer.
Amazon Fire TV Editions With Best Buy
The new Fire TV Editions will be customized models of Toshiba TVs, as well as Best Buy's own Insignia TVs. These models will be available exclusively through Amazon, as well as Best Buy's online and physical stores.
"Fire TV Edition provides a smart TV experience that seamlessly integrates your favorite streaming and live over-the-air content on a unified home screen," touts Best Buy. "With true-to-life 4K UHD picture quality and access to all the movies and TV shows you love, Fire TV Edition delivers a superior TV experience that gets smarter every day with Alexa."
Best Buy further highlights that the TVs will come with Voice Remote included in the package, and users will be able to easily search for what to watch, launch apps, play music, control smart home devices, switch inputs, and more, simply by uttering voice commands to Alexa.
Taking Over The Living Room
It marks the companies' latest efforts to take over the living room, as the market is getting increasingly competitive. Through this new partnership with Best Buy, Amazon gets to put Fire TV Editions in one of the largest retail store chains in the United States.
This strategic move should significantly ramp up competition with Google, which is gaining ground with its Google Assistant and Android TV to get into more living rooms.
Jeff Bezos, founder as well as CEO of Amazon, points out that Amazon has long been collaborating with Best Buy, and the latest partnership now takes things to the next level.
Toshiba And Insignia Fire TV Editions
The new arrangement is an exclusive partnership for multiple years, and should yield more exciting products in the future. For now, it is not yet known when is the exact date the first Fire TV Edition models will become available.

A Toshiba smart TV will get a Fire TV Edition this summer, launching through Best Buy, but more models will hit the market later this year. The models will be available in the United States, as well as Canada.
