Sony isn't waiting a whole year to announce new smartphone upgrades and its upcoming Xperia XZ3 has already been leaked in live images, showing off a dual rear camera setup.

The company formally introduced its Xperia XZ1 back in August 2017, then announced the Xperia XZ2 at the Mobile World Congress 2018 six months later. With smartphone upgrades every six months, the Xperia XZ3 could hit the scene soon enough, and leaks are already piling up.

Sony Xperia XZ3 With Dual Rear Cameras

The new images, courtesy of Sumahoinfo, indicate that the Xperia XZ3 will be an iterative upgrade with roughly the same design as the Xperia XZ2, save for one great difference: the Xperia XZ2 has a single camera on its back, while the Xperia XZ3 shown in the latest leaked images has two rear cameras.

Otherwise, the new Xperia XZ3 seems to have the same metal-and-glass construction as its predecessor, the same curved glass on the front, and the same overall design. Just like the Xperia XZ2, the Xperia XZ3 has all of its physical buttons, meaning the volume rocker, power button, and camera keys, located on the right side.

The bottom bezel is not visible in the photos, but what is shown on the front panel features the selfie camera in the upper right corner. Aside from the dual camera setup, the rear of the device looks the same as the Xperia XZ2, with smooth curves and a glossy look that's bound to be a fingerprint magnet.

The dual rear cameras on the Xperia XZ3 are circular, centered, one above the other, along with a LED flash and what could be laser and predictive PDAF. There's also a fingerprint scanner centered on the phone's back.

Sony Xperia XZ3 Rumored Specs

The new leak offered no information on the hardware specs of the upcoming device but previous Xperia XZ3 leaks tried to paint a picture of what to expect. Based on recent reports, the Xperia XZ3 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display with a full HD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

The device will also reportedly feature 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage space, a dual rear camera setup made up of a 19-megapixel sensor and a 12-megapixel one, and a 13-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

Sony has not made any comments or announcements regarding its upcoming Xperia XZ3 so far. The company, however, could unveil the device at the IFA 2018 trade show that takes place this August in Berlin.
