There are certain things in this world that should be universal. As human beings, we all deserve the right to healthcare and retirement because we've worked hard over the years, and these institutions are directly tied to the quality of our lives. Making healthcare for all and tax-free retirement for seniors a right in this country is a top priority of our most forward-thinking leaders. Republican candidate John Anthony Castro isn't afraid to challenge the norm and firmly advocates these issues in the ensuing election.

John is an international tax attorney and founding partner of Castro & Co. He announced his candidacy to run for the US Senate representing Texas in January 2020, contesting incumbent Senator John Cornyn. "Texas and the rest of the country are ready for genuine solutions for real-life problems. Healthcare for all, and tax-free retirement is not a luxury; it is a necessity to lead a healthy and fulfilling life."

A successful lawyer, John grew up in a strict military household during his father's 20-year career in the US Army. "The importance of service was instilled in me at a very young age," says John. "I was inspired to take a community-focused approach towards politics, and I am not afraid to tackle our country's toughest issues, including healthcare and retirement." John understands how important these issues are not only to his constituency but to citizens as a whole, and he will not abandon his vision at any cost.

John has observed that healthcare for all does work well in various countries. We need to create a system based on the unique needs of our country and effectively deliver quality healthcare to all. John believes healthcare is a right and that the US's success depends on extending that right to everyone.

John believes in the future of healthcare, but he is also an outspoken advocate for tax-free retirements for senior citizens. "Our seniors have already paid their dues and their taxes as they put their money into the system," explains John. John asserts that taxing retirements is unnecessary and unethical. Seeing a lack of progress on both issues, John decided to shed light on what is possible with healthcare and retirement, as an integral part of his vision and campaign.
