Some PS5 owners now appear to be receiving official bans for helping other players gain access to the new PS Plus Collection on their PS4 and charging them for this. The PlayStation reportedly has not yet come up with a particular way to be able to counter Xbox's own impressive Game Pass model but it has actually been giving off some mixed messages regarding its own future plans to compete with this.

PS5 Plus Collection

According to TheGamer, Sony's boss known as Jim Ryan has stated that the Game Pass type of model would not be able to work on the PlayStation but has still stated that it might have an ace hidden when it comes to the company's own version of the Game Pass some time in the future. The closest thing that these PlayStation 5 owners have ever gotten to the Game Pass, as of the moment, is the brand new PS Plus Collection, which is notably a pretty sweet deal.

PSN subscribers have now gotten access to the given collection at no extra cost. This collection includes 20 of the very best games from the previous PlayStation 4. According to Ryan, this is effectively just like getting the whole PS4 included in the PS5. The collection is also able to be played on the PlayStation 4 for those who already own the PS5.

PS5 permanent ban

The last statement is not really technically accurate. Although the PS4 Plus Collection can be played on the PS4, gamers don't actually need to own their own PS5 to do so. All that needs to be done is to log into the PSN on the PS5 and the whole collection will then unlock on the given PS4. Some PS5 owners have currently been taking advantage of the loophole and logging into the PlayStation 4 owners' own PSNs so that the console would unlock the collection for them. The PS4 users then get charged for this privilege.

An article by Video Games Chronicle stated that a particular PS5 owner was able to get over $133 from charging different people an easy $6.68 for the given service. After the login details were sent, all of the different PS5 owners will need to log out of their given account and log directly into the account of the certain paying customer. However, there were recent reports coming from China that this particular scheme is being blocked by PlayStation which is stopping people from exploiting this particular loophole.

It was not just the reported PS5 owners that were doing the unlocking but also the particular PS4 owners that have the collection unlocked for them. While still not confirmed, the ban is reportedly a two-month ban for the PS4 owners but it could be a permanent ban for the owner of the given PS5.
