Starting in 2017, Systemic Games, a small independent studio based in Rockville, Maryland, has been developing this die with six sides. Its creation was ultimately developed and enhanced through the repetitive process that the studio did over the past few years.
With the continuous effort to think of equipment, the team arrived in producing smart dice and later came up with a seven-sided dice set that can be used for pen-and-paper role-playing games like "d20," "Dungeons and Dragons," and "Blades in the Dark."
If you first visualize how it looks, you might find it strange that a very small chip can house a lot of electronic components for its additional features. And if you are worried if it will make your playmates cheat due to its high-tech features, don't worry. The team made sure that the dice will have a fair roll during the player's turn.
Furthermore, you do not have to worry about its durability as the crew assured you that the LED lights and wires are safe inside the dice.
Considering its size, you might have second thoughts on how the makers can fit all the LED lights inside, but all fit within the die, and remember, the RGB-lit dice are slightly heavier than their normal counterpart because of the electronic pieces stuck in them.

In a report by PC Gamer, the person behind this unbelievable masterpiece is a former engineer in Bethesda. Jean Monet is the founder of Systemic Games. He previously worked for Bethesda in the programming sections.
Furthermore, he helped the gaming developer in some of its famous games, including "Skyrim," "Oblivion, "Fallout 3, "and "Fallout 4." This is the reason why this die is impressive, especially its tiny details.
In the next years to come, we could be seeing dice that could adopt virtual assistant support. Possibly, they could also be already considered as gadgets like phones and computers, if not for their meager use for people. The improvements are limitless, and who knows if the next version that we see would be a more game-changing item that surpasses our expectations.
