There are countless apps these days that cater to a myriad of needs. If you're looking for apps that will keep your brain going, entertain you, teach you something new, or all of the above, trivia apps are what you need.

Not only are trivia apps an excellent time killer, but you're also sure to pick up new knowledge or as you go along. If this is your idea of fun or you think it's an ideal way to spend the time, here are trivia apps for iOS and Android you can download to keep yourself entertained.

Jeopardy!

No list of trivia apps for iOS and Android will ever be complete without Jeopardy. The app is pretty much the mobile version of the popular game show, which has been airing on TV since 1964.

According to an article by Tom's Guide, players can play solo offline as well as compete with other players in online matches. The app differs from the actual "Jeopardy!" game show because app players are presented with multiple choice answers to choose from.

If you want to use this trivia app as a time killer, it is actually perfect for that purpose, given that there are 26,000 categories in the app.

Jeopardy! is available for download for both iOS and Android devices.

PopcornTrivia

Think you are an expert in all things film and cinema? You might want to challenge your movie knowledge by trying out PopcornTrivia.

Per an article by Mashable, PopcornTrivia is full of questions about different movie titles and film genres. Getting the right answers lets the user earn popcorn that can be used on premium question packs and avatars.

PopcornTrivia is available for download for both iOS and Android devices.

Psych!

Psych! is an app created by TV show host Ellen DeGeneres. According to the publication, this trivia app "seems to be inspired by games like 'Balderdash,' where you're encouraged to find the weirdest but still reasonable response to trivia questions to trick your friends."

This trivia app, however, is not one that will let you play with strangers online. To be able to play with other people, you can only play with friends who have also downloaded the app on their phones.

Psych! is available for download for both iOS and Android devices.

Trivia Crack 2

As its name suggests, Trivia Crack 2 is a sequel to another trivia app called "Trivia Crack." What both versions have in common is the Classic mode, which Tom's Guide says allows users to "compete to collect themed characters that mirror trivia categories."

Trivia Crack 2, however, has more characters players can collect and even has a new time attack mode called Tower Challenge. Daily challenges and tasks are also available for players to enjoy.

Trivia Crack 2 is available for download for both iOS and Android devices.
