"Elden Ring" fans beware: if you want to go into FromSoftware's latest gritty medieval adventure blind, STAY AWAY from the internet as much as you can.

DotESports reports that there are already a lot of "Elden Ring" spoilers floating around the web ahead of the release of the game on February 25th. And the spoilers apparently feature anything from screenshots, videos, and even the entire opening sequence of the game alongside other gameplay snippets.

But while the info being leaked on the internet isn't too destructive to anyone's experience, it is understandable why some would want to go in completely blind. "Elden Ring" is, after all, considered one of the most highly anticipated releases of the current gaming generation.

Among the gameplay videos that have been leaked early include snippets of the game's character creation menu, as well as some story bits that are being shared on sites like Reddit.

For now, Bandai Namco seems to have taken action to curb the spread of these spoilers. According to Eurogamer, typing "Elden Ring" in the YouTube search bar for instance won't net much aside from official trailers and the game's opening cinematic. Any other spoiler-filled stuff appears to have been already copyright-struck by the company.

To avoid "Elden Ring" spoilers, you are advised to not go to any online forum (Reddit seems to be the most prolific). For one, the game's subreddit is reportedly trying its absolute hardest to not buckle under the hype, as reported by PCGamer.

This is mainly due to how FromSoftware has handled the game's secrecy during the lead-up to its launch. It was first announced back at E3 2019, but went dark for almost two years with absolutely no major update. The only update they got was a single tweet from the developer that confirmed the game's existence.

Now, "Elden Ring" is a week away from launch and the hype train has never chugged louder.

Everything Known So Far About 'Elden Ring'

"Elden Ring" looks to be the first "Souls-like" game from FromSoftware that will try the open-world format, according to Windows Central. The title is billed to focus heavily on exploration, which will lead players to finding epic weapons, powerful spells, and potentially even tougher secret bosses.

According to GamesRadar, the open world of "Elden Ring" is FromSoftware's largest yet. It features a map split into a total of six zones filled with content, which is called The Lands Between. To traverse the landscape, players are given a mount that they can summon at any time and also offers new combat mechanics-you can attack from horseback, for instance, to deal massive damage.

The game will also feature the staples of "Souls" combat that a lot of players love: using your stamina to parry, block, or dodge enemy attacks, using light and heavy attacks, magic spells, and backstabs. However, "Elden Ring" is also poised to bring new gameplay mechanics like dynamic weather, crafting items, and even a stealth system for those who'd like to be sneaky.

"Dark Souls" creator Hidetaka Miyazaki cooperated with "Game Of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin to craft the lore for the game. As a cross-generation title, it will be released on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game goes live at midnight on the release day in players' local regions. PC players will likely have to wait a bit longer, though, as FromSoftware hasn't indicated an unlock time for specific regions.
