A recent study conducted by research firm Cowen and Company suggests Verizon Wireless customers, on average, pay the biggest bills for using Verizon's wireless services. The survey was conducted among subscribers of the top four wireless carriers in the country. While Verizon came out on top, they were followed closely by Sprint in second place and AT&T in third place. Last on the list was T-Mobile, whose subscribers enjoyed the smallest average bill size.

The survey, which shows the average bill sizes for the top four carriers in Q4, 2013, took into consideration the average all-in payments of wireless carrier customers including both additional fees and taxes. It showed that T-Mobile customers paid an average of $120 every month. AT&T subscribers paid an average of $141 while Sprint customers paid $144. Customer of Verizon paid an average of $148 every month.

Aside from conducting a study on average bill sizes, the research firm also compiled a report detailing the statistics of wireless carrier subscribers who plan on switching to a different service provider from the one they currently use. The report suggests that Sprint subscribers are most likely to jump ship with 31 percent of the respondents planning on moving to a new provider in the future. While the numbers seem dismal for Sprint, it can still be considered as a big improvement considering that a similar report compiled for Q3 2013 indicated that 41.7 percent of Sprint customers planned on switching carriers.

On the opposite end of the spectrum lies AT&T. Only 11.1 percent of the AT&T respondents indicated their plans on switching carriers. Interestingly, a survey of Q3 2013 suggested that 31.6 percent of AT&T subscribers were thinking of switching carriers. T-Mobile grabbed the No.2 spot with a result of 15.4 percent, which is an improvement over its Q3 result of 42.9 percent. The country's largest carrier Verizon ended up in third place with 17 percent. Incidentally, Verizon was the only carrier of the group to show worse Q4 result compared to its Q3 result of 15.7 percent.
