Porsche is bringing in a new special edition 911 GTS for the country, under the "America Edition" trim that aims to debut a new car exclusive to the United States. The 911 GTS America Edition is a celebration of Porsche's debut of the vehicle in the US, focusing on the 70 years it has been available in the country and patronized by its citizens.

According to a news release by Porsche, a new 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet is coming, under the particular name, "America Edition," that looks into a modern take on a past vehicle. The 1953 release of the 356 America Roadster and 30 years since the 964 America Roadster that the German car company brought to the country. 

The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet is an internal combustion engine car using a twin-turbocharged three-liter flat-six engine, under its famous Boxer engine technology, that generates 570 Nm of torque. It is one powerful engine and vehicle, and it gets a signature America Edition color with the Azureblue356 that was first released with the 356 America Roadster. 

It also brings a top-down roof that mimics the old Roadster.

Porsche's 70 Years in America: A Lookback

According to CNET, Porsche's US journey began in the 1950s, when the company first sold cars in the country and was inspired to make a more affordable vehicle for the region. It brought the 356 America Roadster with only 16 units sold on its debut.

Since then, Porsche has become a massive name in the country, and the German company has supplied the US with its vehicles. 

The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition is coming by late 2022 as the 2023 model of the vehicle. 

Porsche and its Vehicles

The German car manufacturer, Porsche, is massively famous in the world, and it is because of its luxury sports car that brings significant performance, as well as a status symbol for its driver. The name is a global entity that discusses quality engineering and performance unmatched by others in the same industry. 

Many aimed to copy Porsche for its roadsters and sports cars, but not a lot can compare to its capabilities and performance, especially with the 911 name in the company. Now, there is a rumored vehicle in Porsche's lineup, and it is with the 911's change to a hybrid setup that will let go a part of its engine for clean energy. 

Porsche is also aiming to bring 80 percent of its vehicle production to clean energy releases by 2030, consisting of fully electric cars, hybrid vehicles, and a rumor regarding the use of e-Fuels. 

Nevertheless, 20 percent of its cars will take on the standard internal combustion engine that stays true to its heritage and original make. The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition is a nod to the company's heritage from 70 years ago when Porsche's car gained exceptional traction in the country, establishing itself in the global vehicle industry.
