Apple TV HD is now classified by the company as a "Vintage Product," and it goes on the list alongside the many devices that will not see any repair support from the company despite their use. However, there is a concern here, as the Cupertino giant continues to sell the device in their Apple Stores, with the black box still available to the public.

Apple TV HD: Joins Cupertino's Vintage Products List

According to a new announcement by the Cupertino company on its support website, a new device joins the Vintage Products list: the Apple TV HD, released in 2015. Usually, devices that do not see any development or sale for the past five years will see their induction in the said list, but this technology is not entirely the case.

The said obsolete products would no longer see any future releases from the company, as well as have a lack of parts for repair and support. It means that if a problem arises on one's Apple TV HD device, bringing it to Apple for repair is a shot in the dark that may or may not accommodate the user's concerns.

Apple TV HD: Still on Sale via Apple Stores

However, according to MacRumors, the Apple TV HD (classified as the Early 2016 model) is still available on sale via Apple Stores, which confuses its recent induction into the list. Specifically, the device that arrives in the vintage list is the one with the first-generation Siri remote without a white ring on its Menu button.

It is still available from Apple for $149.

Apple's Vintage Product List

The Vintage Product List from Apple is a collection of the devices that have not been sold for five years among the company's current offers, and it only means that these devices may have no support for repairs. Moreover, this is a way for Apple to bring a "phase out" on its technology without telling the public that these are already goners.

"Join the club," they say, as these devices are under one league where they no longer see support from Apple but are still with the public for their use. Usually, these devices have no software updates available from the Cupertino company, and it is because of their nature as old technology from the prominent tech manufacturer in the world.

Some devices include the iPad Air 2 and lower, iPad Mini 2 and lower, and the old iPhones from the iPhone 6 lineup and older.

Now, there is a new device on the list, and it is the Apple TV HD that brings in-home entertainment to the public, which includes the earliest release for the Siri Remote without a white ring to it. However, there is some confusion for the people, as it brings the device to its Apple Stores for sale, available for all to still purchase.
