SAN FRANCISCO, CA - DECEMBER 01: A bicyclist cycles past a Slack logo outside its headquarters on December 1, 2020 in San Francisco, California. Cloud-based enterprise software company Salesforce announced on Tuesday that it will purchase the popular workplace-chat app for $27.7 billion.

The Workflow Builder was launched in November 2021, which aims to automate routine processes on Slack without the need to write code. All in all, it's an easy to use toolkit.

However, the tool was pretty limited, but things are about to change with the new update. In the coming months, workflows will be more shareable as Slack will enable users to send them as links in Slack channels or in direct messages.

All users need to do is copy and paste for an interactable review, instead of a plain hyperlink. The person who will receive it can approve or deny a request with only one click. It can also be pinned to a Slack channel or in the saved items.

Also, as early as next year, the Workflow Builder will get other new features such as a branching tool. The branching tool works on "if-then" statements that can affect how workflow functions.

It may seem like these changes are small, but these are actually one of the most highly requested tools the platform receives. Slack also explains that managers who have to create new workflows for requests per person can find it tedious, therefore, the branching tool will help things run more smoothly.

Other Changes

The other Slack changes include allowing people to create channels automatically by inviting others and pinning important documents. The tool will also support more integrated apps; however, it is not clear which apps. There will also be new notifications that will inform people if they have pending requests.

With all of these upcoming updates, it shows that they are more about the sum of its parts. According to the messaging app, they were able to achieve a lot with the existing version of Workflow Builder because workflows have grown significantly since last year. Their aim is to grow even further with more people using the Workflow Builder.

In fact, Slack's workflows are one of its biggest selling points. They can save a lot of time for managers and employees alike. With these updates, it makes the process even more efficient.

Slack knows that by adding more features to its WorkFlow Builder, it will make workflows easier to set up. At the same time, it will also enable more people to use the tool.

The messaging app is working hard to make its tool more efficient, and it will be interesting to see the changes that will come.
