A new hack for "Halo Infinite" lets players add a feature that was initially promised but then canceled. Players will be able to play with each other through a split-screen co-op mode by following a few simple steps.

343 Industries Decided to Cancel the Split-Screen Co-Op Mode for 'Halo Infinite'

According to the story by Euro Gamer, 343 Industries confirmed that it will be canceling its work on the split-screen local co-op mode for "Halo Infinite." The article notes that since the developer has decided to stop working on this feature, players are now "doing it themselves."

343 announced that they are relocating studio resources since they will no longer be working on the local campaign split-screen co-op. The resources will be relocated to improve and even accelerate the live service development that remains ongoing.

343 Says They Will be Directing Their Resources Towards Other Things

The resources will also be put towards addressing player feedback as well as the "quality of life updates." The publication noted that when the developers said this, the announcement crushed the hopes of players that have been long waiting for the future.

A video of the "Halo Infinite" update for September was uploaded to YouTube to explain what they are focusing on and what they are expecting to accomplish in the future. The update also included news regarding what features will they be adding or removing.

Steps to Add Split-Screen Co-Op Mode Uploaded to Twitter

Players, however, have somehow found a glitch within the menu that allows them to add "up to three local co-op players to the system." The only thing that players need to do is to have an Xbox Series S or X as well as friends online.

A tutorial was uploaded to Twitter by Halo Creation showing how users will be able to add the split-screen co-op mode to their game. The publication, however, notes that there is no guarantee that 343 will not patch this feature up "or your Xbox may blow up."

With that, gamers that want to try the new feature should know that it could be risky since it is not an official feature and there is still no report regarding potential consequences of using the feature.
