A lot of changes have come to the plans of "Halo Infinite" regarding certain features they were supposed to add to the game. These changes include the co-op and Forge modes which are expected to be delayed.

'Halo Infinite' Season 3 is Expected to be Delayed Until March 2023

According to the story by The Verge, Season 3 for "Halo Infinite" is expected to be delayed even further to March 2023. The news comes with delays not just for the third season, but the game has decided to go a different direction for its co-op mode.

As per the Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries has decided to delay "Halo Infinite's" next season to March 2023. This would extend its current season, which reportedly started in May, by ten months long.

Current Season was Extended from Three to 10 Months

The season was initially supposed to last for just three months. Although players are still desperate for content, it seems like more bad news awaits them as even the Forge beta has been delayed along with the co-op mode.

The release of Forge was initially scheduled for September, and this would allow players to edit multiplayer levels as well as build different maps to share along with other players. This could potentially allow players to be as creative as they want by building their own types of maps.

343 Industries Announces New Multiplayer Maps Along with Forge on November 8

343 Industries will reportedly be launching two different multiplayer maps to go along with Forge on November 8. The new maps will reportedly be built through the use of the Forge editor.

Plans for Its Local Split-Screen Co-Op Mode have been Scraped

The campaign co-op and mission replay are expected to become available on November 8 after it was delayed from its target, which was supposed to launch in late August. 343 Industries, however, has decided to scrap plans for its local split-screen co-op mode.

They decided to do this in order for them to improve and accelerate different live service developments that are still ongoing. The publisher also wants to address the player feedback much better and improve the quality of the life updates they release.

Company Reallocates Resources from Split-Screen Co-op to Other Pressing Matters

343 Industries gave a statement to IGN noting that they have also allocated studio resources that are "no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op." Although this could be bad news for "Halo" fans, the new feature is still expected to open up multiple opportunities for players later on.

Players will, later on, be able to team up with each other online through the co-op feature. The feature is expected to launch during the winter update on November 8.

Once the "Halo Infinite" season 3 officially launches on March 7, 2027, both the Big Team Battle and Arena will be getting brand-new maps. Players will also be able to gain access to a brand new shroud screen equipment ability that would allow them to hide from the radar.
