The "Pokemon" versions of the Nintendo Switch are now on sale. These include the Split Pad Compact and the Pro Controllers.

Compact Edition to Give the Split Pad Compact Controllers a 'Pokemon' Redesign

According to the story by Comic Book, the new ergonomic redesign with a Compact edition comes by Hori, giving the popular Split Pad Pro controller for the Nintendo Switch a "Pokemon" twist.

The Compact edition also has its name in Japan and is known as the Split Pad Fit, which offers a less chunky and more Joy-Con-like experience. The company has decided to partner up with "Pokemon" to upgrade its design.

Two 'Pokemon' Themed Designs Expected for the Split Pad Pro and Two Other Designs are Expected to Move Forward

So far, two "Pokemon-themed" designs have been released for the original Split Pad Pro, meaning they might continue to sell both styles moving forward. Pre-orders for the new "Pokemon" Split Pad Compact and both "Pokemon" Split Pad Pro designs are now open.

Interested buyers can secure a pre-order for the controllers on Amazon at $59.99 each. The controllers are estimated to release on November 4 with different models, including an OLED variant.

Here is Where Buyers can Pre Order the Nintendo Switch 'Pokemon' Controllers:

  • Order the "Pokemon" Gengar version of the Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact on Amazon.

  • Order the "Pokemon" Pikachu & Mimikyu version of the Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact on Amazon.

  • Order the "Pokemon" Pikachu & Charizard version of the Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact Pro on Amazon.

  • Order the "Pokemon" Pikachu & Lucario version of the Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact Pro on Amazon.

Controllers to Give Full-Size Controller Experience with Handheld Mode

For those unfamiliar with the controllers, they are said to offer a "full-size controller experience" without having to be bulky as they remain in handheld mode. Both controller types come with full-size buttons as well as analog sticks.

Users can also experience programmable triggers as well as turbo functionality. The controllers, however, do not include motion controls, HD rumble, wireless connectivity, and NFC, just like what the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller offers its users.

'Pokemon Scarlet' and 'Pokemon violet' Set to Launch

Aside from the controllers, the new "Pokemon Scarlet" and "Pokemon Violet" are already scheduled to release on November 18 for the Nintendo Switch. The games will be set in the Paldea region, reportedly based on the real-life European Iberian Peninsula.

The new games will be the first open-world "Pokemon" games that do not follow a traditional route. The game will also feature a new battle gimmick called the Terastral phenomenon that crystalizes "Pokemon" to boost their attack power in just one specific type of move.

While a lot of "Pokemon" has a "Tera Type" that matches two types of "Pokemon," some of them will come with alternate types. This would add another layer to the in-game possibilities when battling with the different types.
