Apple unveiled the first Home Key-compatible Level Lock+, a smart front door lock that can be controlled remotely by an iPhone and Apple Watch, CNBC reported.

It is available only at Apple retail stores within the US and at Apple's official online store for $329 each with two color variations, Matte Black and Satin Nickel.

Level Lock+'s Functions and Specs

Teamed up with Level Home company, Level Lock+ is an Apple-exclusive smart lock designed to enable Apple Home Key. This feature uses near-field communication (NFC) and secure tokens in Apple's software to unlock doors with a tap. The door may be locked automatically, or the user can SMS the keys to their friends.

Users may get access to a range of functions inside the Level app, in addition to the Apple Home app. These features include complete in-app management of the lock, shared access with guests, auto lock and unlock, and the ability to enter with the touch of a finger, keycards, or the optional Level Keypad attachment.

The gearbox is powered by a cleverly camouflaged CR2 battery located inside the deadbolt, allowing it to lock and open without any trouble, even under the toughest climate factors.

Level Lock+ is BHMA AAA certified, which is the highest industry standard for safety and durability, and users can expect the same easy installation as previous generations, which only requires a screwdriver. This certification demonstrates that Level Lock+ meets the highest industry standards for safety and durability.

Securing the Home Without Sacrificing Aesthetics

As reported by Business Wire, the Level Lock+ is able to provide top-notch protection while still being very easy to use and aesthetically pleasing - thanks to the Apple Home key.

Level Home's Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Ken Goto stated, "It was important to us to advance the technology and safety inside of our smart locks through the latest and greatest solutions available without any sacrifice in size or design."

Apple's Effort to Digitize Things and Keep Their Avid Users

This is a significant step in the evolution of a long-awaited feature that Apple initially mentioned in 2021. Apple's Home Key shows how the company is persevering in its efforts to digitize the things people traditionally carry in their pockets or wallets, such as cash and keys.

It's no secret that Apple has spent considerable time and effort developing new software features for the iPhone to keep customers from switching to other companies.

Some of Apple's newest endeavors, including smart home devices, need third-party gear or systems. These new integrations may take longer to become broadly accessible than iOS upgrades since Apple solely controls the hardware and software.

Reporters and users were able to purchase and find Level Lock+ at specific Apple shops after the product inadvertently went on sale early in certain areas over the last week. This revelation shed light on the increased level of customer demand for a new Home Key lock from Apple.
