League of Legends (LoL) "President" Lil Nas X made the announcement last week that GOT7's Jackson Wang will be attending the opening ceremony of the League of Legends 2022 World Championship with him and several other musicians.

Wang arrived at the Riot Games offices not long ago, in line with the collaboration. The partnership between LoL and Wang resulted in the release of the cinematic film Fire to the Fuse, which left fans in awe because of the music and the narrative of Empyrean Pyke.

Wang's Thoughts About the Collab

During the Worlds 2022 Media Day press conference held in San Francisco on Friday, Nov. 4, Koreaboo reported that Wang discussed how he felt about transitioning into the realm of League of Legends and shared his thoughts with the audience.

His heart is not for the fame that this event may bring but rather for the comfort that it may provide by uniting hearts all across the globe.

"Despite the fact that there are very unfortunate things happening around the world recently and for the past years, I feel like this event is the perfect time for everyone from all over the world, all the teams around the world, to come together and heal. I'm very honored to be invited to be a part of it," said the K-pop idol.

Much-awaited Performance at the 2022 LoL World Championship

Wang also expressed his profound fondness for the video game League of Legends. Even though he is terrible at gaming, he is entirely in love with the story, particularly Arcane. He said he would jump at the chance to make a cameo appearance in Season 2 or compose music for the show if given the opportunity.

As an artist, Wang has always been very active in the creative process of his performances, including choreography, cinematography, and style. He made sure that his performance of Fire to the Fuse would allow the Empyrean plot to be understood by the audience.

Background

Riot Games has a long history of collaborating with exceptionally talented musicians worldwide, based on a report by ONE Esports.

Imagine Dragons contributed to the creation of Warriors, the very first Worlds song released in 2014. Since then, they have collaborated with a large number of artists to release appealing Worlds songs annually, including the ones for their 2021 anime series, Arcane.

Jackson Wang debuted as a member of the K-pop boy group GOT7 in 2014. Following the expiration of his contract with his former entertainment label, he established his own record company, Team Wang. He also made his debut as a solo artist in 2017. Magic Man, his second studio album, was only released in September.
